- A low cloud bank feeds updrafts into a storm at left. An outflow phase has just begun and cool winds are pushing it forward, forming scud and cloud tufts along the base. Some of these look like funnel clouds with pointed shapes, but these look-alikes are only brief, small-scale spurts of rising air along the boundary's forward edge.
