Our rainbows will surprise and delight you with their variety. We have single bows, double bows, secondary and supernumerary bows and fog bows. They arc over open fields, mountains, deserts, tundra, lakes, farms and cities. We even have a midnight rainbow!
The other prismatic manifestations of sunlight passing through raindrops or ice crystals and being split into colours (by refraction or diffraction) or concentrated into unusual optical phenomena can be found here too.
Special notes:
In “Other optical effects” are found the sun pillar, corona, glory, and circumhorizontal arc, plus the non-standard bows (moonbow, fogbow). All other standard rainbows, including the double rainbow (primary and secondary bows) and supernumerary bows are within the “Rainbow” subcategory.
