- Storm gust front cloud progression: sharp-edged Arcus
- W021821Z
- Storm gust front cloud progression. Three very distinct layers of cloud precede this storm. Above, a bluish gray anvil arrives ahead of a darker layer which slopes down as lowering bases precede the rain. Below these, a sharp edged Arcus is a partly separate cloud formed closer to the ground by the plowing motion of the cooler air behind the gust front.
