- Large low cloud (a “scud bomb”) which will become a wall cloud
- W022966Z
- The first blast of outflow from a newly formed hailstorm has become visible as it is lifted into the updraft and condenses into a large low cloud (sometimes called a “scud bomb” by chasers). This burst of new cloud is still partly detached but will soon join the base fully to become a lowering and later a wall cloud as the storm begins to rotate. See W022959S for a view of the storm before the low cloud formed.
