- Weather hints in the clouds: closely spaced Cirrus fingers
- W001803Z
- Weather hints in the clouds. A cirriform cloud sheet is sliced into many closely-spaced parallel lines. Sunset light helps bring out these grooves which represent the final signs of numerous updrafts within earlier storms. Each cloud line is the thicker edge of an anvil flange which has spread far away, evaporated, and been sheared outward to form this time-induced unusual cloud pattern of decay.
