- Supercell mesocyclone: low clouds with a loosely circular structure
- W021647S
- Low clouds under storms. The mesocyclone of a supercell appears as a dark area of low clouds with a loosely circular structure. A large but somewhat frayed wall cloud has formed from the moistened air curving around the back of the storm out of distant showers. A smaller, separate lowering at right is where the outflow from the forward flank rain enters the updraft.
