- Cause and effect relationships in clouds: convection from outflow
- W023211S
- Cause and effect relationships in clouds. As one shower cloud cell ages, another forms to take its place along an axis of convection. In marginal instability, this only happens because some outflow from the collapse of the current cell (left) pushes the next cloud to grow larger. The storm with a ghost anvil at left decays while the next one is in the early stages of building a new cell at right.
