- Thunderstorm outflow cloud features: holes from subsidence
- W012203Z
- Thunderstorm outflow cloud features. Deep into the cool air behind a gust front, the cloud sheet has become uniform and flat. There are small holes where some subsidence has evaporated the cloud. There is little convection within this stable layer, since the warm air has been displaced at the ground and now cools slowly above the outflow pool.
