- An interesting example where a Pileus cloud (smooth cloud strip right-center) is not at the top of a storm or updraft. The two most likely reasons are the more intense, explosive new towers emerging at right, and the presence of a much moister layer at that location only. The flow is to the left and away. A shadow from a distant cloud patch covers the lower part of the view.
