- Three-dimensional stacked structure of a supercell severe storm
- W021607S
- This incredible three-dimensional stacked updraft structure of a supercell severe storm can only be captured in a wide-angle view. Moistened outflow air from the right flows under the dark updraft base where it forms a very low cloud as it rises. This classic supercell is stationary as continuous development boils up and blows downwind to the right. Its forward motion is counterbalanced by backbuilding of new cloud towers in its regeneration.
