- A bank of Cumulus: evaporation level and condensation level
- W022510Z
- Evaporation level. The evaporation level only equals the condensation level in very thin clouds such as wave clouds. For deeper convective clouds, cloudy air that descends immediately begins warming and evaporates to clear air. Here, a bank of Cumulus is newly forming at right while older parts at left evaporate from downdrafts induced by light sprinkles.
