- Cloud types, Acl: a layered lenticular, or mountain wave cloud
- W993921Z
- Cloud types, Acl: a single thick, multi-layered lenticular Altocumulus cloud over a mountain (hidden from view). The flow over the high point is deflected sharply upward, creating a stationary wave structure. This lifting of air condenses the moisture present to form the thick cloud which remains in one place within the mountain wave crest.
