- Vaulted clouds behind gust front in a squall line
- W950679S
- Vaulted clouds behind gust front. A squall line is preceded by a gust front which has just passed over. The dark cloud base becomes higher behind the wind shift, with lines and grooves along the vaulted upper edge of the cool air pool. This view is the north half of the line (see W950682Z) which is weaker, with less of an outflow push.
