- Cloud shapes and air motion: cloud looks like a spaceship
- W991484S
- Cloud shapes and air motion around a storm. A storm at right has a dark updraft base which is becoming bowed forward as drier air descends in the rear flank downdraft (RFD) behind it. This is clearing out the low clouds behind the axis and pushing it forward. Its front surface is beginning to resemble a stacked Arcus cloud as the inflow ahead of the base is squeezed by the converging air streams. The strange shape appears to hover like a spaceship in the sky.
