- Cloud classification issues and problems: eroding Stratocumulus
- W021138Z
- Cloud classification issues and problems. A shallow Stratocumulus overcast breaks up as evaporation from solar heating eats away at the clouds. At some point, scattered flat patches remain with a few showing early, weak convection within them. Is the cloud still Stratocumulus or has it converted to flat Cumulus? The former makes more sense from the structure but the latter fits the appearance better.
