- View under a black cloud as a squall line moves east
- W003775Z
- Skywatching under a black cloud. As a squall line moves east later in the day, the base may become thicker and lower. Excluding stronger forcing by outflow from the rain behind the boundary, the thickening cloud can result from higher dewpoints entering the axis to lower the base. Or, the air mass may be cooling as the day wanes, allowing the forced lift to condense at a lower level.
