- Large shaded Cumulus clouds near a storm
- W001493Z
- Clouds near a storm are always there for a reason. Looking northwest here from under the anvil edge of a storm to the left, large shaded Cumulus are forming at random. The winds blowing under the lightly precipitating layer are moistened by the evaporating showers. Clouds form when the air moves beyond the subsidence and begins to warm up.
