- Light-dark Pileus clouds, the effect from incidence angle of sunlight
- W993469S
- A thick Pileus cap covers the cloud top above a storm. It is composed of numerous thicker and thinner small layers in the flow, showing great moisture variability within a small vertical extent. Part of the light-dark clouds effect, though, is from the incidence angle of sunlight on separate mounds or waves within the overall Pileus sheet.
