- Pair of sundogs, or mock suns, in a halo around the morning sun
- W000009Z
- A pair of sundogs (parhelia) in a halo around the early morning sun. A weak sun pillar is also present. The sundogs are sometimes called “mock suns” for the way the bright spots mimic the sun’s actual position. The clear sky was filled with ice crystals downwind from the open waters of a lake in very cold temperatures.
