- Boiling storm clouds are like mountains in the sky
- W953126Z
- A gleaming white mass of boiling storm clouds stands like mountains in the sky. This thunderstorm has a large expanse of updrafts and new towers crowded together at its southwest side. Towers are falling all over themselves to blast upward in this extremely unstable air mass. The tallest, most vigorous ones form Pileus cap clouds above them where the force of the rising air creates a sharp dent in the air stream above the storm, allowing condensation within that crest similar to a mountain wave cloud form.
