- A supercell is going through a brief outflow phase. Cooler air from the back of the storm is pushing forward, forming a large curved flange below the inflow base along the forward edge of the mesocyclone. This is a lowering of the entire base, but is not a wall cloud unless a smaller section of the base tightens or lowers further.
