- A sky filled with frozen high clouds and ice crystals does not conjure up the notion of “convection.” But there's no doubt that the bright, rounded elements here do resemble cumuliform clouds. The Cirrus sheet has several dense convective Cirrus clouds with fallstreaks that may be generating just enough latent heat during sublimation to form weak updrafts.
