- Chinook arch with three layers that formed within lee wave crest
- W881424Z
- The west side of a deep chinook arch cloud with at least three distinct layers forming within the lift in a lee wave crest. Each layer begins as condensing supercooled water but quickly freezes downwind (to the right). Highest layers freeze almost immediately into Cirrus while lower ones remain unfrozen for a small distance before becoming thick Altostratus.
