- This aerial view shows the top of a thunderstorm crown covered with a dense cloud cap, or Pileus clouds. Even though the temperature is far below the freezing point there, the cloud remains unfrozen as fine supercooled water droplets form and evaporate quickly in the flow through the arc (right to left).
