- At least six stacked layers contribute to this north-south cloud line, which is both a convergence axis for rising air and a gust front along a mesoscale outflow boundary and wind shift. Cloud matter moves to the right up the axis while the line moves forward. Despite the lift, there are no signs of convection in the stably stratified atmosphere.
