- Clouds and rain show the relationship between inflow and outflow
- W952216S
- A simple example of the relationship between inflow and outflow. At left, air rises to form a deep, dark cloud with a rain-free base. The rain forms aloft, is carried forward by winds up there, and falls as a rain curtain at right. Outflow air from this downdraft moves left and adds to the updraft, lowering the base further as a wall cloud.
