- Small Cumulonimbus cloud created by mountain forced convection
- W005457Z
- A closer view (see wide view, W005445S) of a small Cumulonimbus cloud with showers over high land. Air lifts on approach to a mountain ridge and condenses along the dark baseline, then shoots upward and flares into the silver-lined anvil. The conditionally unstable, dry air mass results in forced convection with high bases and a relatively weak storm.
